Question:
Hello, I have a 17 year old cat which was diagnosed with kidney failure 2 months ago. Since then, he’s made a remarkable comeback through the administration of subcutaneous fluids (done at home) and eating Science Diet’s "K/D" (kidney diet). He requires checkups at the veterinarian every month or so. I have been offered the chance to live and work in Haifa, Israel starting next year for one year, and want to take my cat along. My request: does anyone know first-hand about the quality of veterinary care there? Can anyone recommend an excellent vet in Haifa? Does anyone know whether or not Science Diet K/D cat food is available there? I’d really prefer to know of a good veterinarian there, before we leave. Thanks so much for your help, and to those struggling with kidney failure, my heart is with you!

M Two names: David Prihar and Amnon Michael (the latter originally from Haifa). Fortunately the telephone directory for the entire country is not that large (Prihar is pay-resh-hay-resh). Both received their training at Cornell. Michael should be about 59, and Prihar a few years older. Avrama & Shomer P.S. If you do end up contacting either one, give a "drirshat shalom" from Avrama. … nfx v2.7 [C0000] A dog is a bond between strangers. … nfx v2.7 [C0000]
